2026 WINTER Futsal [Kindergarten to 8th grade]

The Mersey Soccer Club WINTER Futsal 2026 season runs from January 3rd - February 22nd. Space is limited on each team!

We play futsal (indoor) during the Winter season.

What is Futsal? Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world. It is a 5v5 (including a goalie) small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries (no throw-ins, just kick-ins) and without walls. It’s a great way to develop technical skills, quick reflexes, fast thinking, and precise passing.

Format

Teams of 6-8 players
20-30 minute warm-up / skills development led by licensed, professional coaches
Coaches are assigned to gym locations, NOT to a team
5v5 game (including a goalie) with two 20 minute halves

Logistics

Dates: Saturdays or Sundays from January 3 to February 22 (no weekday practices)

Games will be held on Presidents’ Day Weekend February 14-15

Location: Albany / Berkeley / El Cerrito / Oakland / Richmond gyms

Schedule: Will be posted late December once registration closes

Uniform/Gear:

Wear Mersey Soccer Club uniform or practice shirt (shirt provided if NEW player)
Shin guards are required for games
Good tennis shoes / indoor / turf shoes (NO CLEATS)
